93 Petit Apartments / Studio Razavi Architecture

Regardless of their size, all buildings in urban contexts contribute to the greater morphology that ultimately defines a city. The larger the project, however, the more the architect becomes under pressure to sensibly balance land use ratio and design. Although this may again evolve in the future, the most current and commonly accepted approach to sustainable urban design is degree densification in and near cities, allowing a greater number of people to rely on public transport, live closer to their work and city centers, rely on local businesses to ultimately create vibrant neighborhoods.

Set above the Sunset Cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Point Loma Nazarene University’s campus is governed by the overriding security of Christ’s love. The university desired a new chapel to replace the existing one, anchor their campus entrance to the north, and provide a serene space for spiritual reflection and connection. PRISM Inn Ogu / A hotel for long-term stays – The project is located on a site close to the city center and is easily accessible from the airport. Traditionally, hotel rooms that can accommodate a group of four or five people together are relatively scarce in Tokyo and, if available, are often restrictively expensive. Here, the aim was to facilitate the accommodation of larger families and groups, particularly overseas visitors from Asia. The resulting design needed to be finely balanced so that each guest could feel equally comfortable when staying together as part of a large group of people or when staying in a smaller group.

Kemaris House is nestled in the residential suburb of Kuala Lumpur’s Bangsar neighborhood. Commissioned to embody the essence of minimalism while ensuring functionality for a modern family, this Northeast-facing abode ingeniously integrates elements to address the split-level site and combat the relentless tropical sun. Drawing inspiration from the region’s climatic challenges, the design harmoniously incorporates brise-soleil louvers and indigenous landscaping to temper the harsh sunlight. Honest materials, celebrated for their intrinsic colors and textures, lend the structure an authentic allure, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings.

Our fascination for tropical architecture always made us appreciative of its beauty and significance. Site is located near Surat. The land offers a beautiful panoramic river view and mango trees on the other side. When we collaborate with clients, we prioritize engaging with them from the very beginning to grasp their preferences and architectural tastes. We always remind ourselves that every project is a collaborative effort between the designer and the user.

The opportunity to create an urban space that would connect the interior of the courtyard with a small square located on the adjacent Cartagena Street was presented to us from the outset as the fundamental objective of the project. This new urban space would, at the same time, allow views of the rear façades of a notable building, the Casa de Baños de la Guindalera, to be recovered for the city.

This is a project to revitalize an old private house in Kita-Senju, Adachi-ku, Tokyo. The current owner’s desire to preserve the townscape led to the renovation of an old private house, the “Former Itagaki Residence,” built in 1938, into a new cluster of three types of restaurants. The project began in the summer of 2019 before the confusion caused by the new coronavirus began. It was triggered by a rumor that the former Itagaki Residence might be transformed into an apartment building.
