The extensive brief was solved taking advantage of the spacious site, integrating spaces, connecting and turning both floors to the landscape. The main volume was placed merging with the view, respecting the natural site and ensuring the access to the street. Integration was the main concern of the project, both with nature and between spaces.

Very little has been done to the exterior envelope of this extended farm building in the Pajote district of Belgium, just to the southwest of Brussels. Upon closer examination, though, one can see that a large square window has been added, with a horizontal window cut into the entire façade of the largest shed. These new openings are evidence that a certain amount of tinkering has gone on with these free-standing angular farm buildings which are a familiar element in the landscape, providing home and office of the owner, a veterinarian, and their family.

The programmatic values of the school believe in breaking away from the standard scholastic teaching system. The design embraces the creative enterprise of ‘flexible learning’ to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners. The site is a land with steep sloping natural topography and several existing trees making it an ideal setting for imparting educating in a green environment. The premise is designed to be safe and close knit yet completely flexible creating an encouraging and interactive environ.

After inheriting the house that his father had built, the client originally considered tearing it down and rebuilding. However, the thirty-some-year-old building had an authentic beauty to it, and its reinforced concrete structure was sound, so he decided to work with the existing framework. The renovation focused on interiors and appliances, while the exterior was left nearly untouched aside from the approach, windows, and doors.

A series of single family houses is designed for Frikøbing near Copenhagen in Denmark. The development plan for the area has high demands on sustainability for construction materials, insulation, energy and air circulation. THE LIGHT HOUSE is the second of our typologies to be developed in the area and consists of a simple plan arrangement that allow for low construction costs while offering generous living spaces.
