With Xinglong Lake as the background and the ring-shaped base intervening, the white building forms a pure interface, organically shaped to conform with the environment. Existing as an art space in Chengdu, the Children’s Art Center complements children’s needs, and at the same time, we hope to create a unique artistic atmosphere in the children’s art center, which can inspire children’s innate creativity, and imagination, and art can fly freely by Xinglong Lake.

Chinese Tujia Pan-Museum Complex / Professor Li Baofeng’s Studio of HUST

Xuanen County, Tujia Autonomous Region, Hubei Province, China is hidden in the deep mountains. Due to inconvenient transportation, many excellent traditional buildings and production methods have been preserved. In order to promote Tujia culture and improve the poverty of local villagers, the local government and villagers jointly developed the Chinese Tujia Pan-Museum. The new parts of this project include the main tourist center, secondary tourist center, Moxiaolou, Moke Bridge, Dixian Bridge, Tujia Culture Exhibition Center, research dormitories and classrooms, etc., with a total construction area of about 30,000 square meters.

Shanshui Firewood Garden / Mix Architecture

Anshi Village, Yibin, Sichuan, is an ordinary village behind Nianpan Mountain. The villages are connected by lots of lanes, scattered fields and ponds, and different houses and trees. It is a typical forest area in western Sichuan. The Firewood Garden is located between the bamboo forest and pond in the village. The site is hidden by the landscape. The building starts with a Sichuan dwelling and reflects the overall thinking on space, material, size, and experience.

Tarentum Bar & Restaurant / MARS Studio

MARS created a cavernous dune restaurant in Shenzhen’s Futian central business district amid rows of tall buildings. The high-end brand Tarentum Restaurant of Shenzhen Ludejin Catering is located on the central axis of Futian District Center of One Avenue, facing the hollow square stairs, close to the main entrance of the B1 commercial area, and closely connected with the urban public space.

Pugong Mountain Geology (Lime Mine) Museum / Professor Li Baofeng’s Studio of HUST

Pugong Mountain is located in Xinyang, Henan Province. According to legend, during the Tang Dynasty, Pupu Taoist people lived in seclusion on this mountain, collected medicines and made alchemy, and hung pots to save the world. Their virtues were admired by all people, so they were called Pugong Mountain. Documents record that in the past, the ancient trees and vines and pine wings of Pushan were empty, and when looking at the vast expanse of the sky in the distance, there were purple hazes in the mist;

Guangming Dongtanyuan Conference Center / TJAD Original Design Studio

The conference center is located in the northwest corner of the weaving factory. The original traces of the site are a group of small dilapidated buildings scattered among the overgrown greenery, which are naturally connected to the vast wheat fields on the north side under the cover of trees. In order to maintain the continuity of this site, we have integrated and reshaped the original buildings and spaces by using a single-story landscaping strategy. Based on the advantages of natural landscape conditions and the qualities of spatial extension, the building was initially designed as a characteristic art space and subsequently transformed into a conference center to meet the needs of a variety of activities as required by the overall functional planning of the park.

In terms of function, contemporary buildings in comparison with those in the past are often faced with a higher level of uncertainties. Within the life cycle of a building, the potential for change of function and pattern of use have become the new normal state. Through a systematic approach, the Exo Towers integrates the spatial layout, structural form, building envelop and mechanical services into a whole , creating a forward-looking and universal space framework which facilitates a building with a higher degree of flexibility and adaptability.

Daqing West Integrated Highway Passenger Station / Had Architects + Studio A05

Daqing West Integrated Highway Passenger Station is located in Ranghulu District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. The specific site is on the north square of West Daqing Railway Station. Daqing West Integrated Highway Passenger Station is an attempt at a “zero transfer” design under the concept of a hub cluster. In the project, the highway station and the railway station use, to the greatest extent, various traffic lines to form an interconnected, complementary motor-rail multimodal transportation network.
