I have been to the last house of the client. They love flowers and growing plants, especially organic vegetables, and spices, without chemicals. However, their previous home is a small apartment building with little space for growing plants, and they even grow vegetables in their bedroom. So when designing this house, we intend to add plenty of room for growing plants.

House JC / Bakermat atelier voor architectuur

March 18, 2023 Elisabeth Kostina 0

The ground floor of this typical Flemish townhouse consists of an entrance hall, and garage with an adjoining room furnished as an artist’s studio. The house had a typical extension with a kitchen, bathroom, and toilet. The degraded condition of this cramped extension became a strong argument for tearing it down. Instead, a new extension over the entire width of the main volume offers space for a dining room and kitchen. The artistic residents desired a strong graphic design for the expansion. Their dream was an extension with a reflection of their personality: colorful, graphic, dynamic, and daring.

Moody Center Basketball and Events Area University of Texas at Austin / Gensler

March 13, 2023 Elisabeth Kostina 0

The University of Texas at Austin Moody Center Basketball and Events Arena, “Moody Center,” creates an immersive experience from the moment fans arrive at the interactive plaza until they get to their seats. The 15,000+ seating facility completes the master plan by creating a game day plaza that ties together all of the university’s athletic facilities and acts as a gathering space for fans, the public, and athletes. Engagement drives the design, blending indoor/outdoor spaces together into a cohesive, brand-forward experience. The arena dares to be different, without stealing the focus from other UT athletic buildings, by respecting campus materiality and introducing a modern approach to systems and details. Designed to create stimulating urban spaces, it integrates sports facilities with current and future UT development.
