W House II / IDIN Architects

November 20, 2025 Miwa Negoro 0

This project is an extension of the first house, W House I, due to the expansion of usage needs. The owner wanted to move to the new house as their primary residence and turn the first house, W House I, into a guest house. The design challenge arose from the owner’s desire for a single-story house where everyone in the family could see each other and engage in activities together throughout the day. At the same time, the owner greatly enjoyed the beautiful mountain view from the rooftop of the original house and wanted to maintain space for their two pet cows, allowing them to walk and graze.

A request came in for a house on a high piece of land, deep in a forest. The location was a place called Sudaewool in Munho-ri, SeoJong-myeon, consisting of two plots designated as a residential development complex. The clients were a couple who run a mid-sized company, and the house was intended to be a retreat for the couple and their employees. For the couple, it would serve as a weekend home; for the employees, it would function as a “stay”—a place to stop by and rest for a while.

Temple of Darkness Bakhoor Bakhoor Pavilion / Bunga Design Atelier

November 16, 2025 Miwa Negoro 0

The Temple of Darkness Bakhoor Bakhoor by Bunga Design Atelier is an outdoor experiential installation – a contemporary temple born from smoke, scent, and silence. Inspired by the ritual of burning bakhoor, where fragrant wood releases sacred fumes into the air, the piece reimagines the temple as a space of reflection rather than worship, of darkness rather than light.
