In order to understand the origins of the residence’s name, we have to go back to the story of one of its two inhabitants. During his childhood, this man used to live on the family-owned farm in the Centre-du-Québec region. When he grew older, his parents left him a sizable portion at the far end of their land that they could not cultivate. Literally meaning the “far end” Les Abouts remained unoccupied for quite some time. After a couple of years spent abroad, it became obvious to the owner that he should colonize the parcel of land he had inherited. Therefore, he and his partner together decided to have a secondary residence built on Les Abouts. As art collectors and enthusiasts, they decided they wanted wide spaces to showcase their various acquisitions throughout the house.
Threefold Architects have designed a large new build house on a generous plot situated at the end of an existing terrace of detached houses in Highgate. The site for the house is an existing garden screened from the surrounding houses and street by mature trees and planting to the perimeter.
Threfold Architects have recetly completed, the ‘Bridge’, a new typology of work environment. The brief called for an exemplar office space and a design strategy which would unite three companies and a 200 strong workforce under one roof.
The project allows access to one of Denmark’s archaeological gems, while offering and intricate spatial experience. Previously inaccessible, the visitor can enter and climb the main space of the tower, perceive the archaeological layers and view the landscape. Culture and nature, at a small and large scale, are united by this spiral access.

The commission consists on the design of the new headquarters of a technological company: an open-plan office for 50 people, with three meeting rooms, lecture area, two little cubicle for individual use, and numerous spaces for workers to interact. In definitive, an innovative environment that empowers creativity and communication.
Piedra Toro is a 8,800 sf, 5-bedroom, 5-bath, spec home commissioned by a longtime collaborating general contractor who wanted a well-designed, contemporary home that could appeal to a wide range of people within a specific market of luxury home buyers.
The Project for the new office of the Santa Elisa, an orange producer farm, is part of a series of projects being carried out in order to modernize and adapt its facilities.
The house was designed on a land with prime location within the allotment. The lack of neighbors on their sides facing the street allowed generous openings without loss of privacy and incorporating to the internal environment the natural light and the sky with its transformations.
