House in Tskneti / NOA Studio

This contemporary house, built with a single material – concrete, is one of the first of its kind in this region and sets a precedent for others. Located on the sloped landscape in a highly populated neighborhood of Tbilisi Hills, the house is elevated above the street level, being invisible to the surroundings and open to the views of Caucasus mountains.

Apartment in Binh Thanh / Sanuki Daisuke architects

The project is about a small apartment with seven rooms in Binh Thanh District, a nearly central area in Ho Chi Minh City. The site has unique slightly curved shape by merging several plots of different sizes with the total length of around 40 meters. It is located in a high density area surrounded by two or three-storey buildings. On initial inspection of the site, we felt that there is much potential due to: “remaining urban open space / void created haphazardly in the crowded city”. Therefore, on careful consideration, we concluded that this open ‘urban’ space can be utilized to design both an attractive and well-designed open spaced building harnessing the natural daylight and wind.

The Remisenpavillon completes a typical old farm ensemble of the region of lower saxony, germany, continuing the existing building lines, the traditional scale and building materials. The new pavilion forms a new vertex of the group of farmbuildings and so the first impression when you approach the farm.

The Wine Ayutthaya / Bangkok Project Studio

Situated on a bank of the Chao Phraya River in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, The Wine Ayutthaya is a new leisure place for wine drinkers. The building was constructed to become a new tourist attraction in hopes of stimulating the economy of local communities surrounding this world heritage site, which was the capital city of Thailand 400 years ago. The building is a product of architectural creativity and environmental context molded into a magnet for tourists.

Binh house by Vo Trong Nghia Architects (VTN Architects) is one project in the “House for Trees” series, a prototypical housing design, providing green space within high density neighbourhood.

About 20 years ago, government-held “the house expo” in Gangnam and constructed this “expo town” of low-rise residences, and every site of this town were designed by selected architects who had been famous in Korea at that time. The site of “GaOnJai” was one of these monumental towns, but the owner of this house who purchased a house of this site has built, newly, after tearing down the old house of this site.

Atlas Hotel Hoian / VTN Architects

ATLAS HOTEL HOIAN is located in Hoi An’s “Old Town; an area which has rapidly grown since it was officially named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Recently, most of the ancient houses have been converted into shops and restaurants that serve the daily influx of tourism. The neighborhood is well known for its beautiful tiled-roofscape and its internal courtyards that provide a layered spatial quality between the inner and outer spaces. This quality has been slowly eroded due to chaotic commercial flow. As a consequence,  Old Town has lost its charm of a calm and peaceful lifestyle.
