Nomaps is a flash-packer hostel re-crafted from an old double storey pre-war shop-house situated in the heart of Malacca’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The is the new headquarters for CityVerve – Innovate UK’s Internet of Things city demonstrator. The Bright Building is the first building in our masterplan for Manchester Science Park and is home to various tech and start up businesses providing offices, meeting areas, laboratories, restaurant facilities and a gym. Communal spaces occupy the majority of the ground floor and supports the delivery of events for up to 200 users.

The brief for the works at The Sekforde centred around two elements 1)The historic pub building which required a detailed restoration 2)The creation of a new build which would occupy the disused, street facing, service yard. It was clear from the outset that the client, from a law background, had a passion for sensitively restoring the historic building where he would become the final live in landlord to the restored pub.

In the context of a dense urban landscape it is logical that the rising start-up community would turn towards the highly efficient concept of co-working for their professional solutions. These spaces must effectively combine the positives of both public and private arenas offering the professional users an efficient resource platform whilst also encouraging social interactions and accommodating for the temporary visitor.

Ennead has worked with Lycée Français de New York for over 15 years, beginning with the design of the Main Building in 2003, which unified the school which was once housed in six separate buildings into a single location. Since then, Ennead has worked with Lycée Français de New York every year to respond to the school’s curricular evolution. Most recently, Ennead expanded the school to accommodate for their transformed curriculum while providing a new dignified presence on York Avenue.

Tom Robertson Architects have reconfigured a small heritage workers cottage in the back streets of Melbourne to bring light and volume into the once dark spaces of this site. The resulting forms create a sense of spaciousness and adapt to a more contemporary living style.

After more than eight years of effort and a passed bond vote, Aberdeen proceeded with replacing its 1950’s era library. The former library was overcrowded, had little natural light, and suffered from repeated water damage. A new civic based design was pursued to address these issues, and to develop a new “living room” for the city.  The result is a state-of-the-art building that can both inspire and serve the needs of the community.  This library was not designed to be a bin for dusty books and card files; it was designed to be a center of creativity, research and collaboration…and to be free to the public.

78 Third Place–the first Passive Plus House built in the United States–included a rehabilitation of a townhouse built in the early 1900’s. Revitalized by New York-based studio, Baxt Ingui, the work respected the original historical architecture of the main building and restoration of the front façade, while adding a new third floor with a mansard and a modern rear addition whose size rivaled the existing home.
