Sala Khaoyai Villas / onion

October 22, 2024 Hana Abdel 0

The second phase of Sala Khao Yai was constructed in 2021, 13 years after its first phase. The project has 3 room types: a 3 bedroom Pool Villa, 2 Pool Villa Suites, and 3 Pool Villas. There is also a main swimming pool on a mountain. Through its masterplan, buildings and interiors, the design of spaces at Sala Khao Yai focuses on views of Thailand’s National Park and the nature that exists on the site. We paid attention to the buildings’ orientation, natural light, and the direction of the wind, particularly in the daytime. At night, we designed the villas to welcome the appearance of the stars.

A House in the Grape Farms / Studio Frozen Music

October 19, 2024 Hana Abdel 0

‘Merging The Sky with The Ground’ – This house is situated in a small village called Belagon Dhaga near Nashik City. The owners of the land are primarily farmers by profession and specialize in grape farming. They wanted to build a new house on the farmland. The site possesses a very scenic setting against the mountains far beyond, the adjacent grape farms, mango and banana plantations, and agricultural lands nearby providing a peaceful retreat from the fast and noisy urban life. The requirement was for a 4-bedroom house with spacious living and outdoor use areas and well-equipped private spaces. They especially wanted a blend of contemporary as well as traditional styles of architecture, in terms of spatial planning as well as visual expression of the structure is concerned. the zoning of the spaces was required to follow the Indian Vastu principles, but they particularly did not want a typical, confined, rectangular-type of architectural massing for the external appearance of the residence. The challenge and desire were to work out an architectural and interior solution that would try to fulfill these aspects.

A city is alive, constantly evolving and establishing a dynamic balance through the interactions and events between people and places. Non-organic structures preserve their form by resisting external influences, whereas organic structures gain vitality by adapting to and interacting with their environment. The process of embracing differences and engaging with others fosters creativity while shaping subtle boundaries that respond to relationships and urban demands.
