Greenlab Diamond Factory marks a pioneering venture in the heart of India, introducing the first-of-its-kind lab-grown diamond manufacturing facility. Spanning 95000 sq ft, the innovative building seamlessly integrates production areas and office spaces across four thoughtfully designed stories. Breaking away from the conventional industrial aesthetic, the Greenlab Diamond Factory boasts a captivating facade featuring exposed RCC slabs, brick cladding, and a harmonious blend of greenery.

Waste management is a global issue with local impact, and reducing waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse is a core concern of the UN. India faces a pressing challenge, with 62 million tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generated annually, only 69% of which is collected and a mere 28% treated, leading to open landfills. Aligned with the Paris Accord, COP 26, and the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission initiated by the Indian Prime Minister, Abellon, a pioneer in India’s Waste-to-Energy (WTE) sector, aimed to process and dispose of 50-100% of the city waste, using controlled combustion technology, without the spread of odor, pathogens, or harmful emissions, which complies with MSW rule 2016 (initiated by Govt of India through Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change) and European Emission Norms.

Designed by Studio Evren Başbuğ for the use of an agricultural development cooperative in Kinik, a northern district on the outskirts of İzmir, Kinik Olive, a small-scale industrial facility with a daily processing capacity of 80 tons of olives and a production capacity of 20 tons of olive oil became operational as of November 2023.

Emerging architecture practice Studio Saar has completed a purpose-built industrial facility for Indian multi-national electronics manufacturer Secure Meters in Sanand, a city in the Indian state of Gujarat famed for automobile manufacture. Secure Sanand has been designed to create an uplifting work environment and promote staff wellbeing while reducing energy consumption and includes state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, a canteen and recreational hub for staff, a seasonal lake that fluctuates between one to three acres in size to allow for rainwater harvesting and will see an additional 2,000 trees planted on the site.

Built on an old textile mill compound in Ahmedabad, Mallcom’s new factory is a PPE garment-stitching unit. The design of the unit takes a holistic approach that balances the needs of the manufacturing sector with the social, economic, and environmental realities of current India.

Domaine is a French word meaning territory or compartment particularly in the historic Burgundy region, world-renowned for its fine wineries, and refers to producers who grow, harvest, ferment, and bottle the wine produced in their own vineyards. In contrast, in Japanese saké production, there has historically been a division of labor between “rice cultivation” and “rice brewing.” It is said that this is due to the development of the class system during the Edo period in which Japanese society was divided into four main groups: the samurai, the farmers and peasants, the artisans, and the merchants. Subsequently, to achieve the goal of creating a product that truly exudes the “terroir” and “vintage” of the Domaine, we inaugurated the construction of rice brewing facilities in 2018, a development that accorded us the means with which to use the rice grown on our own adjacent rice paddies to produce saké.
