Referencing Chengdu traditions of visiting and meeting at the mountain creeks, hearing the babbling of the stream under the shaded canopy of trees, “The Cool Garden” offers visitors moments of respite, shade, socializing, and play while they enjoy flowing waters and the pebbles underfoot.

The Orchestra Park in Kunshan’s Huaqiao Economic Development Zone covers 8,500 square meters between two high-density residential areas and along the confluence of two rivers. With mature camphor and dawn redwood trees and nearby wetlands, the project faced the challenge of integrating a skateboarding area, preserving the natural woodland, and adding essential amenities like restrooms. The design prioritizes ecosystem preservation, creating a functional, modern park for all age groups while providing a green, natural retreat. This project transforms an urban vacant lot into a vibrant recreational space that serves the public and is beloved by the community. We aim to create a livable green space that meets residents’ diverse needs while providing a rich natural experience—a green oasis and social hub in the neighborhood.

The Yinxing Station and the Daqiao Station are located on the south bank of the Qiantang River. It’s a part of the 12-kilometer waterfront public space renovation project in Binjiang District of Hangzhou, undertaken by the Original Design Studio of TJAD.

‘One9Five’ is a luxury condominium situated at Asoke/Rama IX intersection, an emerging economic center of Bangkok full of high-rise buildings. The landscape concept is to create a forest ecosystem on the building podium as a green oasis amidst this bustling city, offering a haven for respite, relaxation, and escape from the urban hustle.

Hop Park is a project that instantly creates a green space that requires low maintenance and makes the least change to the original structure. The space can easily ‘hop’ and adapt to different areas while tackling the problems occurring in the city.

Fields with seasonal crop rotation present a changing landscape, while the irrigation canal remains a constant, straight line. I walked along a narrow path atop the canal, leading into the fields. At the end of the path, a black roof lay nestled against the ground. Amidst the colorful fields, the black object stood apart, an element of detachment. I paused in its shadow, resting between terraces. The silent sculpture vanished, its roof tethered lightly to the earth like a kite, subtly reflecting the field’s glow. The space floated around a hidden core, where the echo of dripping water could be heard. The sound vibrated invisibly underground, rising briefly before merging into nature, allowing the space to expand further. Embedded in the cement were old objects, resembling relics that evoked memories of rural life. The pool’s surface rippled gently, with an old water jar overturned inside. I observed the flowing water deep within the rice fields, echoing the unseen Qujiang River, hidden behind the dike. “Listening-to-the-rain Stop” is situated in the fields along the Qujiang River in Zhejiang. The lightweight structure houses an ancient sound device known as “Dripping into buried jar”, which integrates the soundscape of the countryside. This installation explores the fusion of rural everyday life with artistic spirituality through the sonorous landscape of the fields.
