British architect Norman Foster, who was appointed to the Order of Merit by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997, called the late monarch’s leadership “faultless” and recalled how his studio Foster + Partners “were honoured to welcome her on many occasions when she celebrated projects for which we had been commissioned”.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) and a host of other industry organisations have also issued statements honouring the Queen in the days since her death.
