Postindustrial Aesthetics: The building houses highly complex functional facilities for microbiological and chemical analysis laboratories. This requires great efficiency in its final use, compatible with a hyper-advanced image that, in parallel, aims to evoke emotion. The building presents a marked postindustrial aesthetic.
This project is located in the Safayieh region in Yazd, which is one of those modern civil contexts in this city. Most of the constructions in this area are single materialled with the same form and without any dialogue with the city. The separator walls of these buildings in the street are all the same height and also, and they are all solid in material with no transparency, no matter the function of the building; because of that, the possibility of visual communication between passers and people with the buildings are very low and minimum.
The detection and analysis of high-energy astro particles and their distant sources set the scientific and technical goal for a new research center at Erlangen University Campus. The Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics is set up to develop and contribute key soft and hard components for a range of massive international detection programs such as CTA/HESS, IceCube or KM3Net. The building‘s design has been developed following a successful competition entry in 2017.

The extension of the Faculty of Medicine, at the heart of the Kremlin-Bicêtre University Hospital site, expresses its ambition to constitute a center of excellence for French research and education, open to the city and the scientific world. Located on a dominant point, it enjoys an exceptional panoramic view of Paris and its suburbs. The shape of the building takes up the geometry of the site of implantation and creates a polyhedron whose rounded corners dialogue with the existing architecture.
Building-City – In designing the Kia Laboratory Project, it has been tried to create an interaction between the building and the city by adding a new application to the building, which has the role of an urban hangout and to make the border between the city and the building invisible. In this way, the user is faced with a structure that is both a building and a city, and the border between the two is not easily recognizable. The idea of building-city was formed after conducting different field studies and interviews with the residents of Qarah Ziya od Din (the location of the project). The city’s inhabitants considered the existence of security and the absence of coexistence spaces as two characteristics of the location.
The Ecotron IleDeFrance technical platform offers innovative equipment called “Ecolabs” to the research community, designed to handle ecological systems under confinement conditions and environmental control. The Écotron Île-de-France platform commissioned for CNRS and ENS research occupies a site dominated by wild natural surroundings that needed to be domesticated. The project’s architectural treatment showcases the wooden structural statement. Vertical elements impart rhythm to the frontage by alternating opaque and glazed areas.
The High Technology Incubator (Incubadora de Alta Tecnología, IAT) and the Prototyping Plant will become a reference point for research and innovation in agribusiness in the region. It is a commitment to the bioeconomy in order to change the current way of producing and consuming. This change in the current premises of production and consumption is also reflected in the architectural proposal.
